The Men’s Day was dedicated to all the men in the world to bring forward the topics that include toxic masculinity, male mental health issues and prevalence of suicide among men. This year’s theme was: Making A Difference for Men and Boys.

Through an activity, the men shared what it meant for them to be a man.

Gender-based violence is a profound and widespread problem in South Africa, impacting on almost every aspect of life. It was one of the discussion points during the event, sharing ideas of how men can become involved in the fight against gender-based violence.

Sikelela, a psychologist and community activist shared practical experiences with the group and made a profound statement: “To have a good relationship with others, you need to first have a good relationship with yourself”.
