Monday morning thousands of fans lined the streets of Cape Town to partake in the glorious victory of the 2019 Rugby World Cup championship as they arrived at their last stop of the trophy tour.
United supporters, including PT staff dressed in green and gold, shouted with joy, waved South African flags and blew vuvuzelas as the Springboks’ bus travelling from the City Hall through the CBD and into Langa, Belhar and lastly Elsies River.
Not only did our boys bring the trophy home, the Springboks were also the first team to win the Rugby Championship (and its predecessor the Tri-Nations) in the same year as winning the World Cup. They ended the year ranked number one on the World Rugby’s official ranking.
CONGRATULATIONS to the BOKS who made us proud and brought the trophy home.
